2006 Pulitzer Prizes

Eacy year the Pulitzer Prizes in photography enable us to take a look at history "on the fly." This year's prize for feature photography went to Todd Heisler of the Rocky Mountain News in Denver, Colorado, for views of funerals of U.S. Marines killed in Iraq. Here is one example:

The prize for breaking news photography was awarded to the staff of the Dallas Morning News for coverage of Hurricane Katrina. One of the photos, by Irwin Thompson, is shown below.
